Dr. Giampiero Vantellino (54) was appointed Head of Business Development at Bayer Health Care’s Animal Health Division on January 1, 2008.

Giampiero Vantellino was born on July 6, 1954 in Italy. After finishing school he studied veterinary medicine at the University in Milan, graduating in 1978 with a doctor’s degree. From 1980 to 1984 he ran his own clinic for small animals.

In 1982 Dr. Vantellino joined Bayer’s Animal Health Division in Italy as a Junior Product Manager for Ethical Products in the business unit Livestock. After several assignments in various functions in Italy (Senior Product Manager, Marketing&Sales Manager), he transferred to the division’s headquarter in Monheim, Germany in 1992 to assume worldwide responsibility for Antiinfectives. In 1996 he was appointed Country Division Head of Bayer Health Care’s Animal Health Division in Mexico. Vantellino moved back to Monheim in 1999 to take over the position as head of Marketing for the worldwide Companion Animal business. In 2001 he returned to Italy, where he assumed responsibility as Country Division Head for Bayer Animal Health.

Giampiero Vantellino is married and has two children.
