Biography - Wolfgang Trebels
Wolfgang Trebels (54) was appointed Head of Regional Management Europe at Bayer HealthCare, Animal Health Division on January 1, 2003.
Wolfgang Trebels was born on August 12, 1950, in Heggen, Germany. After finishing school in 1969 and performing his military service, he completed his business administration course at the University of Cologne in 1977 as a graduate in business management. He began his career as a product manager at Schwarz Pharma AG in Monheim, Germany.
On April 1, 1980, Trebels joined the Market Research Division of Bayer AG. After transferring to the former Animal Health Business Group headquartered in Monheim, he performed various functions before assuming responsibility for the business group’s U.K. operations from 1986 to 1992. Returning to headquarters, Trebels then headed up Livestock Parasiticides Product Management for two years. This post was followed by another assignment as business group head, this time in the Benelux countries. In 1997 he took charge of the newly created Farm Hygiene Business Unit for one year. Trebels then oversaw the introduction of SAP within what is now the Animal Health Division before transferring to the Specialty Products Business Group in August 2000 in order to head up the Textile Processing Chemicals Business Unit.
Wolfgang Trebels is married and has three children.
