Andreas Salge (46) has been responsible for Operations in the Animal Health Division of Bayer HealthCare – and thus for the global manufacture of animal health products – since July 1, 2004.

Andreas Salge was born in Leverkusen on July 17, 1958. After finishing school in 1976, he studied architecture at the Technical University of Aachen, where he received his diploma in 1982. He then completed his military service before taking a job as a project manager in an architectural firm.

On January 1, 1985, Salge joined the Construction Department of Bayer AG as a project manager. In 1991 he moved to Bayer Yakuhin in Japan to assume responsibility in Kyoto as project manager for the construction of the new pharmaceutical research center there. Additionally, in 1993, he became the chief engineer and project manager for the solids plant at the Shiga site. In 1995 he returned to headquarters in Leverkusen, where he was named Head of the Construction Department in what is now Bayer Technology Services. From 1998 to 1999 he assumed additional responsibility for the global planning of HealthCare projects. In 2000 he moved to the United States to become Head of Program Management for the Biological Products Business Group.

Andreas Salge is married and has four children.
