Prof. Dr. Michael Londershausen - Head of Research and Development Animal Health Division of Bayer HealthCareProf. Dr. Michael Londershausen (52) has been Head of Research and Development in the Animal Health Division of Bayer HealthCare since September 1, 1999.
Michael Londershausen was born in Offenbach, Germany, on October 6, 1952. After finishing school and completing his military service, he studied biology with a focus on biochemistry at the technical universities in Darmstadt and Düsseldorf. Londershausen received a Doctor of Science title in 1982 and went on to complete further research work in Australia, New Zealand and Germany.
In 1984 Londershausen joined the former Animal Health Business Group of Bayer AG. At first he was employed in the Parasitology Research Department, of which he became head in 1989. In 1996 he transferred to Strategic Planning at corporate headquarters. Prof. Dr. Londershausen became Head of Development in what is now the Animal Health Division on September 1, 1997, and also Head of Research two years later. Since July 1, 1998, Prof. Dr. Londershausen has held a teaching post at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, where he lectures on the biochemical and molecular action of antiparasitic substances.
Prof. Dr. Londershausen is married and has one child.
