Biography - Dr. Alexander Jahn
Dr. Alexander Jahn (46) was appointed Head of Region International at Bayer HealthCare’s Animal Health Division on September 1, 2007. Prior to this he was in charge of the division’s Business Planning and Administration.
Alexander Jahn was born on March 10, 1962, in Leverkusen, Germany. After finishing school in 1981, he studied physics at Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg, graduating in 1986. Between 1987 and 1990 he conducted his scientific work at the Max Planck Institute for Physics and Astrophysics in Munich and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, on completion of which he received his doctorate.
On January 1, 1991 Dr. Jahn joined Bayer AG as a project manager in the Engineering Department. After several assignments in various service functions at Group headquarters (Information Technology, Executive Management, Corporate Auditing, Enterprise Accounting and Controlling, Finance), he transferred to Canada in 2001 to assume responsibility for finance and the administrative functions of all Bayer Group companies in that country as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In July 2002 he became Managing Director of Bayer Business Services in Canada before returning to Germany.
Dr. Alexander Jahn is married and has two children.
