| Mode of Action | Triflumuron is a chitin synthesis inhibitor which breaks the life cycle of insects during the moult from one larvae stage to the next thus avoiding the insect to reach the adult stage. An additional and supportive mode of action is the sterilysing effect when adult insects come into contact with surfaces treated with BAYCIDAL. The eggs they lay afterwards will fail to hatch, which helps to significantly reduce the insect population. |

| Indication/Description | Control of flying and crawling insects in and around animal houses.Recommended for the control of larval stages of flies such as the Common house fly (Musca domestica), Stable fly (Stomoxys calcitrans), Little house fly (Fannia canicularis), fruit fly (Drosophila spp.) and larvae of crawling insects like Darkling (Litter) beetle (Alphitobius diaperinus) mainly in poultry, cattle and pig houses. |

| Dosage | BAYCIDAL must be sprayed on manure and other breeding sites of flies and beetles where larvae can develop. BAYCIDAL WP 25: 1. 20 g of BAYCIDAL WP diluted in about 10 l water per 10 m² for the first treatment. The water volume can be reduced as long as a direct contact of larvae with BAYCIDAL is possible. The solution should be sprayed evenly on the surface every 2-4 weeks. When control is achieved, use only half of the above dose for the following treatments. 2. For the treatment of liquid manure (e.g. in pigsties) use 8 g BAYCIDAL WP per m³ liquid manure per day. When control is achieved, reduce the dose down to 4 g/m³/day. 3. For the control of Darkling beetles use 200 g BAYCIDAL WP in 20 l water for about 100 m². Apply the solution onto the bedding material immediately after it has been put into the house. In order to gain an optimal problem solution BAYCIDAL WP should be used in programs together with adulticides such as Solfac WP 10 and/or Bayt. An early treatment in the season can avoid the build up of the fly population from the very beginning. BAYCIDAL SC 480: 1. 10 ml of BAYCIDAL SC 480 diluted in about 10 l water per 10 m² for the first treatment. The water volume can be reduced as long as a direct contact of larvae with BAYCIDAL is possible. The solution should be sprayed evenly on the surface every 2-4 weeks. When control is achieved, use only half of the above dose for the following treatments. 2. For the treatment of liquid manure (e.g. in pigsties) use 4 ml BAYCIDAL SC 480 per m³ liquid manure per day. When control is achieved, reduce the dose down to 2 ml/m³/day. 3. For the control of Darkling beetles use 100 ml BAYCIDAL SC 480 in 20 l water for about 100 m². Apply the solution onto the bedding material immediately after it has been put into the house. In order to gain an optimal problem solution BAYCIDAL WP may be used in programs together with adulticides such as Solfac WP 10 and/or QUICKBAYT. |
