Waterproof Protection

Protection in conjunction with water immersion and shampoo
Some dogs apparently have frequent water exposure due to swimming or washing. As a general recommendation, if a dog needs to be bathed or shampooed, this should be done before product application. Like Advantage®, advantix® may be applied right after the coat is dry without any waiting period.
advantix® remains effective if the animal becomes wet. However, prolonged, intense exposure to water should be avoided. In cases of frequent water exposure the persistent efficacy may be reduced. Do not retreat more frequently than once weekly.
Studies have been conducted to evaluate the impact of water and shampoo on advantix® efficacy. The dogs where either rinsed with water following a standardized procedure on days 2, 9, 16 and 23 or shampooed and rinsed at day 14 after treatment. Infestation was performed at weekly intervals using Castor Bean ticks I. ricinus or Brown Dog ticks R. sanguineus and/or the cat fleas C. felis. In all the intervals, the efficacy for ticks and fleas was significantly above the required minimum of 90%.
