Mode of Action	It is generally agreed that administration of sodium hyaluronate has a beneficial effect on the following: improvement of lubrication, improvement of permeability regulation via the synovial membrane, positive effect on the composition of the synovial fluid, partly as a result of activation of the synoviocytes to synthesise increased amounts of hyaluronate, improvement of the nutrient supply to the cartilage, direct anti-inflammatory effects.
Indication/Description	Hyonate is used for the treatment of non-infectious arthritis in the horse.
Formulations	Injectable
Presentation	Two times 2ml and other pack sizes
Method of Administration	Hyonate can be administered intravenously or intra-articularly
Dosage	Intravenous injection: 4ml (40mg). May be repeated once or twice as necessary at weekly intervals. Intra-articular injection: 2ml (20mg). May be repeated once or twice as necessary at weekly intervals.
